Started about 65 years ago in Hyderabad, PPL Food and Agro, as it is known today, was once a popular brand in Bangalore City but under a different alias, ‘Sri Murugan Ghee Store.’     While we don’t have a store in Bangalore anymore by that name, our sister store still exists independently of us in Hyderabad. Being one of the earliest ghee merchants to come to Bangalore, the store, which started at 8th Cross Road, Malleshwaram, soon became well-known and moved to the corner of 10th Cross and Sampige Road, Malleshwaram, by which time the store had already made a name for itself with its set of regular customers returning for the quality of the ghee made. The store soon became a landmark in the area as the best place to get quality ghee and became popularly known as "Malleshwaram Benne Angadi" (Malleshwaram Butter Shop), with some customers even coming from as far as Whitefield to renew their stocks of our ghee.

After ‘Sri Murugan Ghee Store' closed down a few years ago due to land disputes, there was a void left in the place where the store used to be. Our customers were distraught when the pandemic hit and reached out to us during the lockdown; on hearing their concerns, we decided to rebrand and restart the ghee business. 'PPL FOOD AND AGRO,' the company we are today, started with the vision to always put our customers first and not to stray from our goal. PPL, short for ‘People,’ is a company to serve the people who served us. We are here to fill the void that our predecessors left behind by providing the rich, granulated ghee that our loyal customers are reminiscent of. Our signature ghee, now rebranded as PPL's Tasha De-lite, is set on showing Bengaluru what they’ve been missing out on, with our product speaking for itself. 

While we operated online initially, we have returned to our roots with a new store in Bengaluru along with our e-commerce store.
